Trick photography is a superb approach to wow and befuddle your friends. Unquestionably the most remarkable trick pics are manipulated with software programs such as Photoshop, but let’s say you’re not a technical whiz? Don’t worry. There’s a range of trick photography techniques that could be actually created.

Perspective is how we visually see the space between us and also objects and their connection to the area around them. A trick photography referred to as Perspective Distortion makes use of this kind of to produce fascinating trick photographs. Perspective Distortion is sometimes producing an object appear extraordinarily big in comparison to the rest of the setting or creating materials in the foreground and background seem as if they’ve little or no distance between the two.

The effect is done possible by the fact that cameras translate images in 2 proportions in contrast to our eyes which in turn operate in 3d. This big difference is made sharp when designing simple trick photography. In reality the particular theme in the foreground is of similar size to those in the backdrop, but because they are positioned further away from the camera than he is actually, they show up much smaller. If our subject in the forefront had his palms by his side the consequence would be non-existent. This displays exactly how critical it is to utilize imaginative poses to actually carry the influence.

Angles:

One of the least complicated tips you can accomplish in photography with no working with digital effects is simply by simply switching the digital camera on its side. The strategy to this trick photography is capturing some thing which when turned to the side provides a whole new meaning. In this picture we notice a boy laying horizontally on some rubble as it might appear in fact. This is the very same photo but how it was actually taken. You will observe that now it seems as if the boy is scaling a rock face vertically. This was reached by titling the digicam – in this circumstance – 90 degrees counter-clockwise. Once again this is a photo which can only operate if you make use of your backgrounds and themes artistically.

Long Exposures:

Long exposure photography is a trick photography which demands a slow shutter speed. Many digital cameras allow a person to adjust your shutter speed physically. This approach is actually best employed when photographing moments where right now there is both a fixed theme and shifting topics. The result causes trailing light to style off of the shifting materials and can offer you along with a very interesting looking photograph. A number of of the much more excellent results you can achieve with long exposure photography involve taking pics outside at night with fast changing bright lights. This picture shows a theme employing a sparkler. The slow shutter speed of the digital camera delivers the footprints of light an visual appeal comparable to lightning. If you test along with unique colours and speeds you can create astonishing and complex looking results.

Well I’m hoping that gave you a few inspiration to go out and produce some great trick photography with your camera. You simply need a little originality, so proceed, take some snaps and most importantly have fun with it!

Dullaway Sanna is a Swedish artist with a great mastery of photo editing. It seems that recently started a business on restoration of old photographsand colored. To show his skill, has taken pictures of famous personalities like Albert Einstein, Ernesto “Che” Guevara, Winston Churchill or Charles Darwin and has been restored and colored.

In some cases the state or age of the original photo can not do miracles, but the result is really impressive in the majority. One example is the photo that you have the beginning of the post, the photograph of the kiss in Times Square between a nurse and a sailor.

In your photo album has also posted pictures of anonymous people who have spent some users and displayed before and after passing through their hands. Some of them show significant damage originally. If you have ever tried to fix an old photograph you do not need to explain the patience it requires. There is no doubt that Sanna can make a living with his ability.

Choosing between presenting a black and white image and present it in color can have its advantages. Both options have their strengths and both have their drawbacks.

The black and white can enhance the expression of a portrait, can accentuate the texture of the object in focus, you can create dramatic and can make focused attention on the object. All these advantages may play us against if we need is just the opposite.

People are still very adept at this preference (especially portraits) and there are great works, personally speaking, color would not impact the same way.

However, there are situations where color is the main player in an image. It would be a crime to deprive a picture the color of a sunset , the color of a flower or the color of a pair of blue eyes.

There are other situations where choice is not so easy , then we must appeal to our taste, to some opinion or preference of the client if necessary.

In short, to choose between B & W or color is good to first know the goal you want to achieve with the image and is good to know also the limits and scope of each alternative, but certainly when it comes to photography as art, the decision end is very far from being good or look bad.

To take great macro photography, you will need to invest in the appropriate equipment. To just buy a lens and focus on close hoping for a good shot is not the way to do it.

Macro photography is a situation whereby you get up close and personal with your subject. True macro photography is working on approximately 1:1 ratios or closer. This produces an image that is true to the size or much larger than the subject being photographed. It is easy to get confused with this type of photography in terms of what is considered really macro. Normally macro photography ranges from life size 1:1 up to ten times enlargement 10:1, which is believed to be the exact definition of macro photography.

To take great macro photography, you will need to invest in the appropriate equipment. To just buy a lens and focus on close hoping for a good shot is not the way to do it. You will need to have a good camera, like a Canon or Nikon, and a good macro lens with a good zoom factor. A good camera to use is a Canon 1DS Mark III with a 110mm macro lens

Choosing a subject can be quite tricky. It can sometimes be difficult to get a good depth of field with macro photography, especially if you are shooting a part of an object in an abstract sense.

For example: if you are shooting part of a candlestick that is ornate, it’s important to get the lighting right as well as having the vision to begin with. Often this can work out quite well whereby DOF is lacking allowing for high magnification and originality.

However, when shooting insects and such alike, magnification is important. Therefore, DOF is also reduced but makes up an integral part of the image.

Without being too technical, to increase your DOF you will need to set your camera on a higher F number-the F-stop. The highest is F8.0. When increased, the aperture of the lens becomes smaller prohibiting the amount of light that reaches the light sensor. To compensate for lighting, you must either use a flash; extend your shutter times or other sources of light. For still subjects, extended shutter times normally suffice, however, if your subject is on the move you will need to use a flash to prevent the image from blurring.

Using a tripod can also help, especially if you are waiting for you’re subject to appear or you are shooting still. This will prevent movement, which can be detrimental when working in macro photography. You will also need a release on your tripod. This will also allow you to move your camera around while securely attached.

Macro photography can be a real art form if executed properly. Subjects/objects are explored that are normally difficult to see with the naked eye and your vision for what makes a good image is heightened. There is an abundance of subjects and objects to choose from, whether it’s in your home or garden.
Firstly, you will need to think about what would make the subject/object interesting. Consider the texture, colour and shapes as well as a particular feature that would make a great shot. There are many ways to take a good macro image, and experimenting with angles that encompasses varied lighting can produce outstanding images. You can also build your own mini macro-studio in a simple box that is open at the top and at the front. You can drape it in any colour you like, for example; using black would marry well with objects of colour.

For your lighting you can simply clamp to reading lamps on the side, but make sure you use GE Reveal bulbs, these are not as harsh as normal light bulbs.

Macro photography is all about trial and error. You will bin most of your images until you get the hang of it. However, the results can be greatly rewarding, an art form that will allow you to explore your creative side that will be unique to you and you only.

Happy shooting.

Keep it simple shutterbug. Travel photography is about capturing a moment, a place or a culture.

Travel photography is as much about the experiences the photographer has along the way as it is about the image itself. The people you meet and the places you see. No one can deny the satisfaction the photographer gains by carefully planning and executing the perfect shot using a whole host of expensive equipment to get everything just right. However a technically perfect, but emotionally distant shot pales into insignificance next to one that manages to convey it’s message with sensitivity and shows an intimacy with it’s subject.

I have known, in practice travel photography, many a photographer who will spend hours setting up their tripod, attaching all the required components (and some not required ones), cleaning and polishing the lens to within an inch of its life, only to miss those few moments of perfect light, when the sun bursts through the clouds and spreads it’s golden rays over the scene, or the seconds a member of an exotic tribe smiles into their camera.

So how do you keep the quality of travel photography, but not miss the moment? Get back to basics. Take a long hard look at your kit bag and then leave most of it behind. Take with you only the essentials. Aside from a spare battery set and other such essentials, one camera, one or two lenses, and possibly a polarizing filter should let you cover most situations. Apart from not being weighed down by a heavy bag, you will find yourself thinking less about the technical aspects of photography and more about the image you are taking.

An obvious, but often overlooked aspect of travel photography is getting to know your subject. I don’t mean planning weeks ahead the best way to get to your destination and the best time to go (although this is important too). What do you do once you get there? Walk around the scene. Look at the angles. Look at the people. Speak to people. Become part of the scene. Think about the message you are trying to convey, and the way you want to convey it. Is it about the place itself or the people that live there? Are you looking at the broader picture or the finer details? Or both?

These are all questions that need to be answered at some point. The successful photographer to practice travel photography is one who knows the purpose of their shoot and acts accordingly. You may find that you spend more time getting to know your subjects than actually shooting. This however, is no bad thing. It is better to come away with a few memorable images than many average ones. In addition to the images, you will more likely come away with a richer cultural experience. Which for many a traveling photographer, is the real prize.

So while it is easy to be swept up in discussion with other photographers about who has which gadget, don’t forget why you’re there in the first place, and spend a little more time thinking about what you see though the lens rather than the lens itself.

Taking great landscape pictures can seem so easy compared to shooting action photography or taking pictures of children or animals. However, any photographer that’s lugged their equipment to the top of a beautiful vista only to end up with sub-par photos can tell you that there’s a lot more to great landscape photography than simply showing up.

Landscape photography it’s all about the details. The more you can shove into your image, the better it’s going to look. Detail and depth of field are both increased by longer exposure times, so try to use the highest F-stop value (22 on most cameras) whenever possible. This will allow less light into the camera and give you more flexibility in exposing the film. A slower ISO film (around 100) will also help to pull more visual data, but be aware that slow films may not be the best for all lighting situations.

Keep it Steady

While, in landscape photography, slower shutter speeds will add to your detail and depth of field, lengthening the exposure time has its own risks. Even the most steady-handed of photographers begin to run the risk of hand “shake” blur at a shutter speed of about 125, so skip this headache altogether and mount your camera on a tripod, sandbag, or flat rock. If you’re using the bulb setting on your camera or a super slow shutter speed you may also want to consider getting a cable release. A cable release will help prevent the image from being ruined because of your hand movements pushing the shutter button.

Find a Focal Point

Think of a photo of an empty room with no windows- not very interesting, is it? Just like any other picture, you need a subject in your landscape picture to make it interesting. In landscape photography, whatever kind of landscape you’re shooting, make sure that the image has some sort of focal point and is framed accordingly. This may seem strange, but simply pointing a camera at a mountain and hitting the shutter isn’t going to automatically result in an amazing photograph. Think of the “story” of each photograph, and try to tell it in the frame.

Always Have Your Camera Ready

Landscape photographers don’t have the luxury of scheduling appointments or building their own light environments. You have to be willing to practice landscape photography with factors outside of your control and capitalize on these factors when they work in your favor. Shooting images in the early morning hours compared to dusk is very different and has a very limited time frame for you to take the perfect shot. So, if you want to take an impressive landscape picture, you’re going to need to have your camera gear packed up and ready for whenever an interesting moment appears.

Be Patient

Though it seems almost the opposite of being ready to run out the door at a moment’s notice, understand that landscape photography can require an immense amount of patience. The moments in time captured by a landscape photographer’s lens will likely never happen again in quite the same way, so be prepared to wait for the perfect shot.

Landscape photography is deceptively complex. From an outsider’s perspective, it seems like all a photographer needs is a camera and some hills or a waterfall; understanding how the time, weather, and composition of these photos influences the final product is the mark of a true professional. With those few things, you’ll have everything you need to start taking quality landscape pictures.

Photography allows you to capture memorable moments or scenes and it allows you to watch them over again later. While a digital single-lens reflex camera is good to have, it’s not necessary in order to know how to take good photos.

Good photos not only acquired by using complicated camera. If you have a simple camera then that will do. You don’t need anything else, except some time and imagination of course. If you want to know how to take good photos you are going to have to pay attention to a couple of things. I’ll give you some tips on what you’ll need to focus on.

How to take good photos – Tip #1: Lines

The next time you’re out on a trip or when you just want to take some photographs keep an eye out for any interesting lines you see. When you look at a photograph your eyes will automatically follow the main lines of the photograph. Use this to your advantage. Let’s use a highway as an example. If you want to convey depth in a picture of a highway stand right in the middle of it ( preferably when there’s no traffic of course) and take a picture of the two lines on the side of the highway converging in the distance.

How to take good photos – Tip #2: Composition

Composition is closely related to the lines we’ve talked about in our previous tip. A good thing to remember is to never center your main subject. Almost everybody who knows how to take good photos knows this. Their subject is always a little to the left or right of the center. They use something called the rule of thirds. To make use of the rule of thirds divide your frame in to nine equal parts using two vertical and two horizontal lines that equally divide the shot. The intersecting points of those horizontal and vertical lines are the points you want to be placing your subjects on. Also, for landscapes, try placing the horizon on the horizontal lines. This will create a more interesting shot. So to recap you are placing your subject on one third of your shot.

How to take good photos – Tip #3: Light

A fun thing to play with is light. This is something you need to experiment a lot with. You can really create something unique if you experiment with light. Photographing against the sun is usually a big no no but sometimes the effect you get is stunning. You can try making somebody hold the sun by shooting against the light and placing your subject between the light source ( the sun) and your camera. You really can do anything if you think about it. When you photograph people most of the time it is best to utilize light that is coming from either side of the person. If the subject would be looking straight into the camera usually their facial expressing is not something you want to be capturing. If you’ve ever been photographed when you were looking into the sun you’ll know what I’m talking about.

How to take good photos – Tip #4: Experiment

Imagination is key. Really anything is possible. I gave you tips but what you really need to do is go out and try new things. Find your own style and break all the rules. Remember that you only get good if you take a lot of pictures.

So now I’ve given you a couple of tips to improve your photography. There are another million things we could talk about but this will do for now.

Your wedding is one of the most beautiful and important days in your life. Something you definitely want to capture with great wedding photos – both for yourself and for future generations.

Wedding photos are acquired by good scenario only. A worst case scenario could have you paying lot’s of money for a bunch of pictures you really are not satisfied with. This article will walk you through some of the most important aspects of wedding photography.

Choosing a photographer

Your first task to get great wedding photos is naturally to select a wedding photographer. Most expensive doesn’t always translate into “best”, so it can pay off doubly to check out several companies and photographers. Also, you should be aware of that some photographers only offer the traditional wedding photography style, or strictly a photojournalistic style. It is best to find a versatile photographer that can do both.

When visiting the photo company you should inquire who will actually be taking the wedding photos. Salespersons often pose as actual photographers and try to woo customers. If at all possible you should speak directly with the photographer and make sure companies deal openly. You should also ask them to show several complete wedding photos album from each of the photographers they offer you, so you can choose. Make sure the one chosen is the one that will cover your wedding. Otherwise, it is better to find a photographer that personally shoots weddings. A two-person team is an even better package because two points of view of the wedding can be taken.

In any case, the photographer should be able to show more than one complete set of wedding photos. Couples should not accept someone who shows only selected prints of their best photographs from different weddings. A photographer who can exhibit three or four complete sets of good quality pictures, all from different weddings, will probably be a very good choice for your special occasion.

Do not be afraid to come across as “too picky”. Because asking intelligent questions will encourage photographers to deal openly with customers. Remember, it’s your special day, and you should make sure that the wedding photos are something that will help you and your loved ones relive those wonderful memories.

The big day – one big photo-op

Once a great photographer has been appointed to the task, most of your job is already done. However, there are a few things to keep in mind in order to make your wedding phtos as good a opportunity as possible.

The first thing to do is to give the most opportunities for the photographer when scheduling activities during the wedding day. When planning the time of the wedding ceremony and of the reception, couples should incorporate the time that the photographer requires to capture all wedding photos of the couple’s special moments. There should be a gap between the end of the ceremony and beginning of the reception, to allow for more photographs for the bride, groom and wedding entourage, especially if they are in two different locations. The photographers and subjects will have a more relaxed shoot and will enjoy all the parts of the wedding if the events are well spaced out.

Selecting a photographer that will provide unlimited coverage for the whole day is also a good way to ensure that none of the wedding photos will be rushed.

The check list

As you see, the most important part with successful and great wedding photos lies in selecting the right photographer. So, to conclude this article, here is a short check list of things you should ask all potential photographers.

What kinds of cameras does he use to capture wedding photos? Does he use medium format equipment and have a back up? Does have a “leaf” shutter or “focal plane”?

What lenses does he use? Does he use only one, or will he change lenses? Make him show you wedding photos effects that he is able to achieve with different lenses and choose the ones which you like to appear with your photographs.

Will he provide wedding photos in both color and black and white, or would he charge extra for B/W? Dramatic effects can be made with black and white photographs, so ask if this is a premium.

- Are hand and digital coloring or digital color separation included in the package or would he charge extra for these? Better wedding photos are developed when the photograph colors are separated first, improved, and then printed.

- Is he willing to customize a package that is within your budget?

Photography is an art and few people are perfect in this art. For some people photography is their passion and for some people it’s in their blood. When you take photographs, make sure that you’re doing everything possible to make that photograph memorable. There are several ways to take good photographs.

Good photographs are obtained by a confidence to shoot an object. If you can shoot well and have confidence that you can take good photographs, all you need is a simple or common camera to create great work. You can use your mobile camera to take good photographs if you’re talented. If you’re not talented, it doesn’t matter if you buy a SLR Camera or any latest model Camera; your work will still be uninspired.

The next important thing is noticing something very unusual, unique or cool. To take a good photograph, you must select the place where you want to take photographs as the place is also an important factor. The second thing is light, so everything should appear clearly. If you’re taking photographs at night make sure that you’ve sufficient light to see the object clearly. If a photographer is talented, he’ll take a good photograph in such a way that a bad object would look so beautiful. You can take good photographs of mountains, rivers, sunset or forests. If you’re mountain lovers you can take shot of mountains like several mountain photographers who have been awarded for their great work. Photographs of flowing water from the river side can have a great impact on the viewer. Photographs taken from the top floor of the buildings also looks good (if you have a good camera and good technique to take shots).

Many photographers suggest hill spots are a good place to take photographs. You can take good photographs from hilltops as you’ll find there everything which is required to make the photography successful. Also you can take photographers underwater which involves more risk but once you’ve completed your work, you’ll love those photographs.

If you have problems in taking good photographs, the solution to this is simple. First, point the camera straight at the person (or at the thing that should be sharply in focus). Then, half-press the shutter button. The camera will focus on the person (or whatever the object is). When the camera is focused, try to see everything is appearing clearly or not. Don’t lose the focus until you’ve successfully taken the photographs of the object.
